David Mateer

David is a retired police officer and has 60 years fly fishing experience. For the last 20
years he has been fishing competitively and has represented Scotland at international level.

David has fished various venues all over the UK and Ireland both for salmon, sea trout and
trout. On two occasions David has also fished the Rio Grande, Argentina, for large sea trout.
He is currently involved with the River Spey Anglers Association, teaching and
encouraging youngsters and ladies into fly fishing. In addition he regularly mentors
candidates sitting the SGAIC courses.

David holds the following qualifications:_
SGAIC single and double handed instructor
SGAIC fly dressing instructor
UK Level 1 coach
FFI, DHCI and CI
